Magnetostress and multicaloric effect in Ni<sub>44.1</sub>Co<sub>5.0</sub>Mn<sub>36.1</sub>In<sub>13.4</sub>Cu<sub>1.4</sub> polycrystalline alloy

In this Letter, we report on a large magnetic field-induced stress of 14.4 MPa/T and low hysteresis 50 MPa in polycrystalline Ni44.1Co5.0Mn36.1In13.4Cu1.4 alloy, rendering it as promising candidate for high-energy output high-efficient actuators. The magnetostress mainly originates from the transformation entropy change 15.4 J/(kg K) high sensitivity phase temperature to field −9.2 K/T. Furthermore, have explored possibility by adopting multicaloric strategy enhance reversibility widen cooling window. Unexpectedly, application has little impact elastocaloric change, which might be ascribed magnetization character ferromagnetic austenite non-synergic spin-lattice behavior alloy.
